OUR HISTORY

The shelter was established in 1988 by concerned individuals and social service agencies to alleviate the pain of poverty and homelessness in Fauquier County. A look at the history of FFSS will provide a better look at their efforts to establish an emergency shelter and a transitional housing program in Fauquier County. FFSS operates the only emergency shelter in the county.

Services and programs offered by FFSS include:

• The Haven
  Fauquier's only emergency shelter, The Haven was completed in Sept 1999
  
  The Haven's expansion from 26 to 52 beds is now complete.
  
  
• Vint Hill Transitional
  Transition to long-term affordable housing.
