What is it?
The Emergency Shelter is the only emergency shelter in Fauquier
County. This 52 bed facility can accommodate up to eleven families
and eight single adults at any one time. The ground level is 100%
accessible to persons with physical disabilities. A trained staff
oversees shelter operations on a 24 hour/7 day per week schedule.
What services are provided to residents?
An on-site case manager helps to formulate and facilitate clients'
plans for stable housing after their shelter tenure. In-house comprehensive
support programs include budget management, various employment-related
programs, life-skills classes, nutritional classes, job search services,
parenting classes and children's programs. These programs are augmented
by other community programs through collaborations established by
FFSS with its partners. Referral services to local, state and federal
resources are provided to all residents as appropriate.
