Many thanks to everyone that made Christmas special for the families at the Fauquier Family Shelter. Everyone was adopted and the children enjoyed a special Christmas morning complete with a tree and filled stockings. Along with gifts, many items from our Wish List were donated along with food items to prepare a special holiday dinner. Christmas at the Shelter was truly a Community effort.
A BIG thanks goes out to the Shelter’s Church Coalition! All cleaning and paper products are now donated by our local Churches which takes the burden off of our already stressed budget. We couldn’t provide the much needed services to homeless families and individuals as they work toward self-sufficiency without the help of the Community.
Job well done Hunter Carson! Hunter chose the Fauquier Family Shelter for his Boy Scout Eagle Project. With the help of family and co-scouts, he was able to provide Care Packages full of hygiene necessities, treats and other fun items for all of the residents. He is a great example of young people thinking of others.
Without the support of local churches, schools and non-profit organizations, we would have a difficult time operating our program at Vint Hill. Thank you to Oakdale Baptist Church, Bridge Community Church, Greenwich Presbyterian Church, Bethel United Methodist Church, the AWANA Club, Warrenton Baptist Church, Warrenton Presbyterian Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, MOPS, Greenville Elementary School, Auburn Middle School, and Fauquier High School. These generous groups have provided holiday dinners and activities, donated food, sponsored families for Christmas, donated needed supplies and helped us paint and clean our units before new residents move in.
Thank you to Ms. Jodi Johnson and the Highland students for volunteering their time for a new program offered to the children at Vint Hill. It's a monthly "Reading and Homework Support" group.
A huge thank you goes to Ms. Leah Karner for continuing to operate our Homework Club at Vint Hill Transitional Housing. This is a wonderful service that provides tutoring and computer time to the children he

Thank you to Piedmont United Way for organizing the "Day of Caring". We enjoyed having Fauquier Health and Dominion Power spend a day at Vint Hill Transitional housing program doing repairs , painting and cleaning several of our units to get them ready for new residents. The generosity of these companies and their employees is amazing.
